In the early 90's, Chris Clement took early retirement from Florida Power
to operate an RV park near the Chassahowitzka River (Seminole for "hanging
pumpkins") 60 miles north of Tampa. Everyone just pulled in, hooked up and
partied. Tired of arguments (and fights) when the power bill came, he used
some of the utility's own methodology to divvy things up fairly. The first
successful microMETER covered a desk top with a 286 PC, Marantz amplifier
and lots of wires and transformer steel. His father, John Clement, applied for a government grant to develop a marketable product.
A US Department of Energy Technology Transfer (TTR) grant (Phase I and II)
was awarded at Lockheed Martin Specialty Components in Largo, Florida. Their
expertise in magnetic materials, and Chris' utility experience resulted in a
power submetering system that allows you to read KW demand and KWH on multiple circuits using a PC. It meets all applicable accuracy and safety codes.
Our mission is to produce the most affordable form of the same technology that,
until now, had only been available to large industry. Local associates
manufacture some custom components in Florida, USA with little overhead. The rest are standard, widely available parts. This makes our product both scaleable and future-proof. To succeed, we must build customer loyalty and repeat business. We are always interested in feedback and want to be sure that your expectations are met and ideas are considered.
No middlemen. Just installers and end-users, please. This is best for us and our customers. Once a customer, forever a friend.
